2007 Big Ring Challenge Race Course and Distances

Above is the race course. The start is near the lodge, heading North up the road for a bit. Then it takes a sharp left turn into the forest singletrack. Remember the trails at Double Lake are coarse sand that drain fast.

Each loop is about 7 miles of wooded, 95% single-track with rolling, minor elevations.

The course will be marked for our work party April 29 and of course Saturday May 5.

New this year is the route over the dam or spillway!

Please respect the land managers wishes and WALK your bikes across the dam when people are present.

Of course during your race laps and final lap you’ll RIDE across the dam.

Driving Directions to Double Lake

Our final work parties before the race are tomorrow and next Sunday (April 22 and 29). The work parties are eligible for Paydirt Points.

Distances

  1. you guys might want to suggest riding the trails at cameron park in waco. i live/ride here. the trails are almost always empty and deserve to be ridden. no entrance fees, challenging climbs and descents(beginners beware), polite people, pretty scenery, 99% single track.

  2. We LOVE Cameron Park! One of these days we’ll get a GHORBA road trip up there. But we’ll need a guide to show us the best lines. Maybe you?
