Beginner Racers

GHORBA focused the marketing of the race to first-time and beginner racers in order to grow the sport and reach out to a non-traditional bicyclist racing community. The success of the campaign was evidenced by the record breaking 80 “first-time” racers that participated in the event. GHORBA also promoted the race to the general riding community and beginners in the Houston area through skill’s clinics and non-traditional newspaper ads. Thanks to the generous support of over 15 Houston area sponsors every beginner racer in the event received a prize for their participation through a beginner raffle. Typically only 10-15% of the racers receive prized through a raffle.
