Beginners' Race Clinics - Make your racing debut this fall!

For the first time, GHORBA is presenting a Beginners’ Racing Clinic which is geared to this year’s Fall Texas Mountain Bike Racing calendar.

This fall, we have three TMBRA races local to Houston. Since only three races are needed to count for overall scores – it’s like Houston has its own race series!

Our Skills Clinic Director, Jeff Shoemake, will lead the group on pre-rides of the race courses at Huntsville, Lake Bryan and Rocky Hill Ranch.

Each clinic will include a briefing on the elements needed to get you racing: preparation, tactics and rules, followed by a practice “race” around the course. The course is geared towards Beginners, but will also be suitable for those considering upgrading from Cat 3 (Beginner) to Cat 2 (Sport).

Clinics start at 9am and finish about 1pm.

The clinic is free for members in good standing. If you need to join GHORBA or pay your dues, click on the membership menu at the top. Please be aware that all three venues have land / day use fees.

Please fill out the release form beforehand and bring with you. If you have family membership and your children will attend, please also fill out this Parental consent form <18 yrs. old.

You must bring a mountain bike, helmet, and a your own hydration

  5. We’d love to see you there, but our insurance requires you to be member before you show up at a GHORBA clinic or race.
