Double Lake Recreational Area
Double Lake Recreational Area near Coldspring, Texas, is located in the Sam Houston National Forest and only 1 hour away from Houston.
The beautiful, ~8.5 mile singletrack loops through the forest and is perfect for beginners, young riders as well as experienced riders who want to go fast!
This is the place to go when trails closer to Houston are too wet to ride, as it drains well and the coarse sand actually is faster after it gets a bit moistened.
After your ride, you can cool off in the lake!
This trail is used for a TMBRA spring race — the GHORBA Big Ring Challenge, and the trail follows the race course.
