Memorial Park

Memorial Park is a beautiful green forest surrounded by the concrete jungle of Houston, Texas. For years this area was well known around the country as the best urban trails in the United States.

They still are one of the most convenient places to ride in Houston, we just don’t have as many miles to ride as before. The trails have been shortened and sanitized in the mid-1990’s but are still great.

Park in the lot west of the baseball fields near the rugby/soccer field and follow the double track along the soccer field back to the single track. But before you head out, check out the trail conditions as you should not ride any Houston area trails when they are muddy!

Use caution as these are two-way trails and very busy on the weekends. Please be courteous to other trail users and remember that cyclists yield to both foot traffic and horses.

Since these trails are so heavily used, we are always looking for help with building, maintain and fixing trails within the park. If you want to help, please contact our trail stewards at MPTrailWork@ghorba.org

Work party info is posted in the GHORBA forum as well.

The GHORBA calendar has GHORBA group ride info for Memorial Park.
