National Trails Day - June 7, 2008 - There's a Trail for You to Work On!
National Trails Day is promoted by the American Hiking Society. They may be hikers, but they’ve done an outstanding job in promoting trails which we cyclists can also use, so we are proud to be a supporter of this event.
Here’s a list of trails around town where GHORBA members and friends are showing up to do the work and, in many cases, ride afterwards:
Jack Brooks Park – 10 AM at the Trailhead
The regular crew at Jack Brooks, led by Steve Booker, a GHORBA board member, will be having a work party. Steve and his crew have made JB one of the premier mountain bike destinations in our area and they sure would appreciate your help.
Lunch and drinks will be provided by GHORBA. Drop Booker a note to let him know you’re coming.
Park on the south side of the park complex. We will work through lunchtime.
Cypresswood Trails at Collins Park, 8 AM to noon
Join GHORBA trail steward Gerry Nicodemus for fixing up the sweet Cypresswood trails. Meet at the now renamed Collins park trailhead.
Carl Barton Jr, Park, Conroe – 9 AM till done!
