Upcoming Major Work Parties - Cypresswood & Jack Brooks, Saturday Jan. 30

Saturday, January 30, Cypresswood 8:30 AM Start.

In preparation for the GHORBA Short Track Series race at Cypresswood Trails next month we are undertaking some critical trail maintenance this weekend. Several sections of trail need to be worked on and the need for volunteers to help is critical. The work party will meet at 8:30 am on Saturday. Rakes, shovels, branch lopers, pruning saws and gloves are the required equipment.

We meet at the trailhead parking lot in Collins Park (Cypresswood Park on Yahoo and Google maps). Enter the park off Cypresswood Drive between the Cypress Creek Christian Church and Harris County Courthouse. This is the first traffic light east of Stubner Airline at York Minster Dr. Head south to the second parking lot on the park road (North Greenfield Dr), just past the Skateboard parking lot. For more information call Jon Roberts at 281-827-3650.

Jack Brooks Work Party, Jan. 31 at 9:00am.

Meet at the trail head. Recover & possibly adjust the floating bridge & recover the Golden Gate. Maybe stomp down a few “idiot” ruts. Should be dry enough for a ride after we’re done.

Everyone volunteering at the work party can submit their Paydirt form. Even if you don’t race, you can qualify for some sweet prizes at the end of the racing season.

  2. As for the photos, we’ll see what we capture race day. If you want to become a part of GHORBA — just volunteer at one of the work parties or events (when you are in town) :-) You can also become a member via our membership link above.
